Our Vision

Our vision is to assume an exemplary and leadership role through commitment to continuous improvement and in devising the best practices in dispensing education that will address the academic, social, emotional, intellectual and physical needs of our learners.

Our Mission

The Keats College seeks to create a challenging learning environment that encourages high expectations for success through the development of a student-centered approach that allows for individual differences and learning styles. Our school promotes a safe, orderly, caring, and supportive environment. Each student’s self-esteem is fostered by positive relationships with students and staff. We strive to have our parents, teachers, and the immediate community involved on our students’ learning.

Keats college was founded in 1964 by Max Wong Ah Sui. On the 1 st of June of 2016 keats college will be celebrating its 52 years of existence. Mr Max Wong Ah Sui started his career as an English literature teacher and was fond of the ureat English poet John keats after whom he named his school. A thing of beauty is a joy forever – John Keats. As a native of chemin grenier, son of a shopkeeper, his dream was to serve the inhabitants of this southern region.  At that time life was tough and poor. Secondary education was paying and few families could afford to send their children to schools in the town, nearest was Curepipe. Besides getting in business education was not an easy enterprise. With his close collaborators :Mr Gutty and Mr Keenoo they worked hard hand in hand to build keats college. He was very dedicated to his work and for him Work is worship.  He put his heart and soul in this dream.  He had a mission and a vision and this had led to his success.

At the very beginning,he bought Lincoln college and started with 3 teachers and around 35 students but today we are proud to say that it is a jewel in the south.  We have two big departments with the best infrastructure for both boys and girls with many specialist rooms/ laboratories. We have today about 1100 students benefiting of this service.

We are offering both academic and prevocational education. Since 2015 we are among the 12 colleges which had enrolled for the HSC PRO that the government had launched to prepare our students academically and in parallel for the job placement.  We have full participation in extra curricular activities.  We are honoured to say that our performances both academic and sports are to the best.  Pupils who are not able to join a State college are best served and coached at Keats College.

Up to now keats college has trained at least 10,000 students who are working in various spheres of our society as professionals, civil servants, artisans and contributing directly in the economy of the country where they are living round the world.

We have always worked with the government for the benefits of our students. We are confident that our school will once more live up to the challenges coming ahead be it the new policy of the nine years schooling prone by the government or any major changes.
